The extension of the runway was done by reclaiming swamp lands. Locally available material on the island was used along with geogrid for reclamation. Locally available material on the island was cement stabilized to construct the base. Premix asphalt surface.

Savings were achieved which were applied to a premix asphalt surface instead of chip seal. San Pedro is an island and construction works create interesting logistics obstacles that had to be overcome.
