Reconstruction of The San Ignacio to The Western Border to a two lane Bitumen Surfaced Highway and the construction of drainage structures.
In-situ inferior subgrade material was lime stabilized to the subgrade fill specification
Cement Stabilization
White marl was cement stabilized and laid on the entire length of road as sub – base and base which was bitumen surfaced. The removal of the crushed base layer offered large savings that were used to extend the highway project from 11.9 km. to 15.2 km.
Cement Pavement
The first 300 M of the road was on a steep vertical gradient and a concrete pavement of 15 CM thick was placed instead of a bitumen surface.
