Salient points of the Works are:
S.C.V.R. starts in Dangriga (at sea level) and has swamps and flood plains for about 6 kilometers and gradually changes to gentle hills at Middlesex. Large deep side drains had to be constructed.

Savings was achieved on the contract and works was extended from Alta Vista to Middlesex totaling an additional 10 km. Various small bridges were replaced by large culverts at Steadfast Village.
Cisco Construction Ltd, re-designed, using “Mac Road”, (a computer programme for road building) approximately 20 km of the Stann Creek Valley Road.
The FIDIC contract form was not used, instead The New Engineering Contract form was used.
Its use was monitored by ODA for future use.
Drainage Structures
Approximately 45 concrete surround cross culverts and approximately 175 access culverts were installed. Approximately 2,250 LM of corrugated pipe was supplied and approximately 2,300M3 of concrete was poured to surround the cross culverts and to construct the head wall structures. The culverts ranged in size from a single 900 M structure to a structure containing 7 lengths of 1,800 M to a single 3.860M structure.

Reconstruction of the Hummingbird Highway to a Two Lane Bitumen Surfaced and construction of drainage structures and short span bridges. The Hummingbird Highway is on mountainous terrain, which requires vertical and horizontal level changes.
Salient points of the Works are:

Cut volume - 399,000 M3 approximately
Fill volume - 310,000 M3 approximately
Base - crushed rock - 33,000 M3 approximately –
Provided by Cisco’s crusher.
Pave surfaced- 211,000 M2 approximately –
chips provided by Cisco’s crusher.
Blasting
The vertical alignment required the blasting of rock in four locations of the highway.
Quarry Operations
The Company owned and operated a Crusher that produced all the Base Material (33,000M3) and concrete aggregate (1,800 M3) required.
Drainage Structures
Approximately 86 cross culverts were installed; 2,200 LM of corrugated pipes was supplied and 1000 M3 of concrete was poured in head wall structures.
Short Span Bridges
Two types of bridges were built:
Hammock Bridge - Box Culvert
Double 3M X 3M X 37M Long
460 M3 of concrete was poured.
Fairweather Bridge - Bridge
9.4M wide X 12.2M Long
7.1M above water level
Approximately 275 M3 of concrete was required for the slab and abutments.

In-situ inferior subgrade material was lime stabilized to the subgrade fill specification
Cement Stabilization
White marl was cement stabilized and laid on the entire length of road as sub - base and base which was bitumen surfaced. The removal of the crushed base layer offered large savings that were used to extend the highway project from 11.9 km. to 15.2 km.
Cement Pavement
The first 300 M of the road was on a steep vertical gradient and a concrete pavement of 15 CM thick was placed instead of a bitumen surface.

1,400m long, 6m wide access road was constructed as an access road to construct a 30 acre sewerage pond. The road and ponds were constructed on reclaimed mangrove landusing locally available fill on the island.

- 125,300 m2 Bi-directional Geogrid BX1100 was placed for the ponds.
- 121,679 compacted m3 of fill was supplied to construct the ponds base and berms. Fill was excavated from the mangrove swamp.
